As you might expect, since playing the game requires a separate launcher to be installed, inviting your friends isn’t as simple as firing over a digital invite.

How to invite and play with friends in Hytale

If you want to get a few friends in on your adventures in Hytale, your first port of call is to actually create a world. After doing so, load into your world.

Once you’re in, hit the Esc key to open up your menu and then head over to the Online Play option. You should now see a menu that allows you to change some settings, allowing others to join your world.

To start the process, toggle ‘Allow Other Players to Join’ to ON, and hit the ‘Save’ button. This should now generate a code in the allocated box, along with a warning that you should only share this with people you trust. This is because it contains your IP address, leaving you vulnerable to attacks if it falls into the wrong hands.

You can also add an accompanying password just as an added extra safety feature, which may be a good idea if you’re planning on handing out a lot of invites.

After copying the code given to you, give this to your friend(s), along with the password if you input one, and they’ll be able to put this in via the Servers tab to get into your world.
