Those of you who have been waiting for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for some time, you’ll be wanting to search every nook and cranny to unlock everything there is in the game.

If you fall in this category, you’ll be overjoyed to know that there is a secret ending to uncover, which you will need to put in the hours to unlock.

Lets get into what the Metroid Prime 4 secret ending entails and how you can get it on your playthrough.

How to unlock the Metroid Prime 4 secret ending

As you might expect if you’re a Metroid veteran, playing most, if not all the entries in the franchise, you’ll be going the extra mile to secure the secret ending in Prime 4.

To unlock Metroid Prime 4’s secret ending, you must achieve a 100% completion of the game. This means you have to scan all there is, get all available upgrades, find all the Green Energy Crystals, and more, adding a significant amount of time to your playthrough.

What happens in the Metroid Prime 4 secret ending?

This is your last chance to go back and go for that 100% completion, seeing the secret ending on your Switch system. So, if you’d rather do that, hit that X at the top of your browser…

With that out of the way, let’s dive into what happens in Metroid Prime 4’s secret ending.

This alternate ending for Metroid Prime 4 does go through much of the same story beats as the regular ending for the game.

Samus, in her Legacy Suit, will plant the Memory Fruit and it will begin to grow into a plant instantaneously after removing the gem from her helmet.

She will then transform back into the base Varia Suit and hang Reger Tokabi’s tag on the tree that has now formed.

In the secret ending, Samus will, in fact, have her helmet removed, allowing you to see her face for the first time in this game. Her face hasn’t even been remotely visible through her visor, so a huge win for those who want to get a look at how Samus has been designed this time around.

This is very similar to that of the original Metroid Prime secret ending where you also get a 360 view of Samus’ head with her helmet taken off.

For the 100% completion, you will also receive an uncut version of the flashbacks you experienced throughout the game. This can be obtained via scanning the Sylux amiibo, but a 100% run is the only ‘free’ way of getting it.
