Viewfinder is free on the Epic Games Store for a few more hours, here’s how to get it

There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Epic Games adding brilliant titles onto their free mystery game series, and you don’t have long left to claim another brilliant edition to the daily festive deal. Viewfinder is free to claim on the Epic Games store until 30th December at 11 AM EST (4PM GMT).

What is the plot for Viewfinder?

Originally released in 2023 on PlayStation and Steam, and on Xbox and Switch in 2025, the first-person adventure follows an unnamed explorer who can turn photographs into real life. 

Viewfinder is set in a fragmented world of floating structures and abandoned facilities, developed to preserve human knowledge and creativity after Earth suffered a catastrophe.

The world’s researchers believed that reality could be reshaped through observations and recorded images, but the project collapsed, leaving you, an AI, and fragments of human ambition left.  

Throughout the story, you solve a series of puzzles while using your special ability to explore the world and learn why the experiment failed.

How to Claim the Epic Games Store’s Free Daily Games

As with the weekly Epic Games Store giveaways, claiming one of these freebies is a pretty simple process. Here’s what to do:

First, create an Epic Games Store account if you’ve not already got one. You can do that on  the Epic Games Store website or by downloading the Epic Games Store launcher from the site.

Now go to the web store or launcher and go down to Free Games.

Click on Viewfinder, and you should see a big blue button that says Get. If it says Buy Now, you’re on the wrong page or too late for the giveaway.
