Subnautica: Below Zero is diving onto mobile this March
On the same day that it was made available for PlayStation Plus members, developer Unknown Worlds has confirmed that Subnautica: Below Zero will be available on mobile from March 10.
We have also been given the brilliant news that you will get a 10% discount if you pre-order the game. Originally $9.99, it is available for $8.99 on iOS and Android, should you purchase the game before it comes out.
What is the plot for Subnautica: Below Zero?
Set two years after the original installment in the series, this sequel sees you explore the arctic region of Planet 4546B in the hopes of finding your lost sister, Alterra, after she left in a hurry in a mysterious incident.
Abandoned research stations are scattered across the region. The question is: What happened to the scientists who lived and worked here?
The leftover logs, items, and databanks among all the debris paint a mysterious picture, but with limited resources, you must improvise to survive on your own by extensively constructing habitats, scavenging for resources, and crafting equipment.
As you search for your sister, beware of the undiscovered creatures that are all over the region. Can you find your sibling in a thrilling story that takes around 20-30 hours to complete.
You can progress using different devices in the mobile version
Because save data is stored locally and also synced to the cloud, players can continue to progress across multiple devices without having to transfer game saves manually. For example, they can play on a tablet at home and continue their adventure on a smartphone whilst travelling. This also means you can play it without an internet connection.
Another difference is that mobile has its own exclusive UI with touch controls obviously being available. Should you want to play with a controller, however, the game will be compatible with MFI controllers.
