While you might have thrown all of your money at the Steam Black Friday Sale to save a few bucks on titles you’ve been waiting for to be discounted, the Steam Winter Sale is here, ready to squeeze every last cent out of you.

If you’re an adventure game fan, there are some really nice savings to be had on exceptional titles until January 5, 2026, and we’ve picked out our top selections.

5 adventure games you should pick up in the Steam Winter Sale

Fallout 76 had a rough time when it first launched, with many expecting the levels of exploration and character arcs a fully-fledged Fallout title has.

We’re many years past that point, and it has come on leaps and bounds to the point where most, if not all that play, are firmly recommending it.

It’s been getting updates galore, and now, since the success of the Fallout TV show on Prime Video, it even has a Ghoul update for you to enjoy.

It’s available during the Steam Winter Sale at the measly price of $3.99, which is an absolute steal, and something you shouldn’t pass up.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

There are about a thousand Assassin’s Creed games at this point but it’s safe to say that Valhalla is one of the good, albeit different ones.

As you’d expect, you’re entering the Viking era, and it’s definitely got the gore and territory conflicts you’d expect of that time.

There’s a ton of content to get through, and as previously suggested, isn’t just the usual AC formula. So, if you’re not a huge fan of the Assassin’s Creed games, this one might tempt you in.

It’s only $5.99 in this Sale, making it really not that hard of a decision.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online has been around for over ten years, and while the ‘Online’ in the title might put some off, it’s a fantastic game that any fantasy RPG fan should at least try.

The basic version comes with the base experience and The Morrowind Chapter, which should give you enough of a taste to want to come back for more adventures in Tamriel. It’s only $4.99 in the Winter Sale, so you might as well pick it up at such a low price point while they’re taking their time with The Elder Scrolls 6.

However, the Premium edition is also on sale at $26.39, which comes with literally all the content that has launched so far. This is the one we’d go for if you like other The Elder Scrolls games because once you’re sucked into this Online variant, you’ll want to take on all there is to play.

Hogwarts Legacy

Avalanche Studios recently announced that Hogwarts Legacy has hit over 40 million players, and there’s a big reason why – the game is fantastic.

Even if you’re not a fan of the Harry Potter books of movies, a playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy is just fun.

You’ll be waving a wand around, casting spells in class one minute, and the next you’ll be flying on a Hippogriff over the beautiful castle grounds.

If you didn’t manage to net a free copy from the Epic Store that kicked off its holiday freebies series, it’s more than worth dropping $5.99 on Steam.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Geralt rides through a medieval town in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, now is the time to secure a copy for less than $4

This third entry in the series is highly regarded as the best of the franchise so far, and while it essentially bookends Geralt’s journey, it will also prime you for The Witcher 4 when CD Projekt Red gets around to releasing it.

It’s a huge adventure to undertake with various twists and turns, and a plethora of entertaining quests to pick up. There’s no question that it’s worth the Steam Winter Sale price, and if you gel with it (there’s no reason not to), you’ll sink hundreds of hours in.
