Saros is finally here, but how long does it take to beat?
Housemarque is back with a vengeance with Saros, which takes the bones of Returnal and takes it up a few notches.
There are fantastic story beats, satisfying (and refined) combat mechanics, and a whole lot more that make the game a solid overall experience for you PS5 owners.
If you’re wondering how long you’ll be hearing Rahul Kohli’s brilliant voice acting for, we’ve got the lowdown on the number of hours it will take to beat the game.
How long to beat Saros
Just like Returnal, since Saros is a very fast and frenetic game that requires a bit of skill to dispatch enemies in good time, the number of hours it takes to beat can vary quite dramatically.
For the average Joe, who isn’t exactly used to games of this ilk, and is just looking to complete the story, anticipate between 22-25 hours to roll the credits. However, if you’re more of a skilled gamer who may have dabbled in Returnal, you could be as low as the 15-hour mark, since you’ll likely grasp the core gameplay systems pretty quickly.
This is just to complete the Saros, though. The above figures don’t take into account any progress you want to make toward the secret ending (yes, it has one), or even the 100%, if you’re that way inclined.
If you are looking to secure the Platinum Trophy and check off yet another full completion, you’ll need to play Saros for at least 30 hours, potentially rising to 40-45 depending on whether you’re going in fully blind or not.
All in all, Saros is one of those experiences that sits in the comfortable bracket of playthrough length. You don’t need to be playing it for 100 hours+ just to wrap the story up, or sign your life away if you’re looking to reach the lofty 100% heights.
