Can’t wait for Pokemon Pokopia’s launch? Play the demo at the European International Championships
Pokemon spinoffs can be a little hit and miss with the hardcore mainline fans, but when Pokemon Pokopia was announced, it gave off those Animal Crossing vibes that most resonate with.
The game is launching on March 5, 2026 but if you’re in the right place at the right time, you’ll actually be able to play a demo ahead of most others.
Where and when you can play the Pokemon Pokopia demo
Nintendo has confirmed that an event demo of Pokemon Pokopia will be playable at the 2026 Pokemon Europe International Championships (EUIC), running February 13–15 at ExCeL London.
The sad part is that if you haven’t grabbed a ticket already, they’re all sold out, meaning you’ll have to wait for the aforementioned release date to create a lush island for your ‘mons.
If you are going, though, expect a full-on Pokemon weekend. Alongside the Pokopia snippet, there is obviously competitive action across multiple Pokemon disciplines, side activities like panels, meet-and-greets, and even a pop-up store to buy a bunch of themed goodies.
A demo of the recently released Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be available, so if you haven’t picked it up already, you can get hands on right after experiencing Pokopia.
As for what you can expect from the Pokopia demo, there aren’t any confirmed details, but we expect it to be a fresh playthrough where you’re able to take a look at the basics of your Ditto character before the full game is out in the wild.
Whether this same demo will be made public after the event comes to an end is a little up in the air, but seeing as though this is a whole new take on the Pokemon genre, it’s likely Nintendo will put out a free look at the game to entice those on the fence to buy.
