Playson strikes again with 3 Thunder Coins: Hold and Win

Playson is adding another game to its Thunder lineup with 3 Thunder Coins: Hold and Win, a storm-themed slot that builds its gameplay around the popular 3 Coins mechanic.

This latest release leans into the supplier’s familiar Hold and Win structure, but adds a few extra layers through Sticky, Boost, Multi, Extra, and Charge features.

Set against the backdrop of a thunderstorm, the game is clearly designed to keep the reels feeling active, with multiple routes into bonus play, and plenty of chances for features to combine in rewarding ways.

Three Feature Coins power the bonus game

At the centre of the action is the Thunder Coin symbol, which can land alongside regular Coins and Feature Coins to trigger the Bonus Game. Once activated, you receive three respins, with every new symbol resetting the counter back to three.

The real twist, though, comes from the coloured Feature Coins. Land three of the same color, and the corresponding feature kicks into action.

The Multi Feature, tied to red Feature Coins, places multiplier values of 2x, 3x, or 5x onto empty cells. If there’s no space left, multipliers can stack on top of each other, combining their values for bigger potential payouts.

Thunder, Extra, and Charge Features add more winning potential

The Thunder Feature can also activate when the Thunder Coin symbol lands, collecting the value of all visible Coins, including Jackpot and Feature Coins. In the base game, this value is added to the current spin win, while in the Bonus Game, it feeds into the Total Win.

Adding even more unpredictability is the Extra Feature, which can appear during the Bonus Game and transform into a red, purple, or green Coin. This can either introduce a new feature or strengthen one that’s already active.

There’s also the Charge Feature, which can add enough Coins, Feature Coins, or Thunder Coins to trigger the Bonus Game with a matching feature attached.
