It’s your last chance to pick up this highly rated point-and-click adventure before it disappears into the aether
If you’re a fan of spooky stories and retro-style point-and-click adventures, be warned, Goosebumps: The Game will soon vanish from digital shelves, potentially forever. Publisher GameMill Entertainment has confirmed that the title will be delisted across all platforms, including the PlayStation and Xbox Stores, as well as Steam, on August 8, 2025.
Originally launched in 2015, Goosebumps: The Game served as a prequel to the Jack Black-led Goosebumps movie. Developed by WayForward Technologies, the game marked the franchise’s return to PC and consoles for the first time since the 1997 release of Attack of the Mutant.
Its combination of humor, horror, and classic puzzle-solving made it a favorite among fans of the genre, and could turn into one of those real cult classics later down the line.
Set in a suburban neighborhood crawling with R.L. Stine’s iconic monsters, you must navigate familiar haunts overrun by werewolves, lawn gnomes, and more. The game challenges you to piece together clues, avoid traps, and ultimately, confront Slappy the Dummy in a final showdown.
Although it never became a breakout hit, the game definitely found its niche audience thanks to its nostalgic charm and relatively easy Platinum trophy, which is actually achievable in under five hours if you’ve played a couple of point-and-click games before.
Currently priced at $9.99 on Steam it’s a pretty solid buy in our opinion, but there’s a chance it may receive a final discount before disappearing from digital storefronts. If you want to hold off until closer to the delisting date to save a couple of bucks, maybe wait a few days to see how it plays out.
While no official reason for the delisting has been given, it’s widely assumed that the game’s license agreement tied to the Goosebumps property is nearing expiration, something that has happened many times before in the video game realm.
So, all in all, if you’ve been waiting to add this quirky horror adventure to your digital library, or fancy another quick Platinum trophy hunt, now’s the time because once it’s gone, it may never return.
