is windrose on console

Windrose is one of those survival games that is a must-play, even in its Early Access state. It has sword fighting, ship sailing, base building, and a whole lot more, all coming together to create peak pirate gaming.

If you like the sound of any of the above, then it’s a worthy pickup, even for just a small snippet of time.

However, is Windrose a PC only game, or are you console owners able to enjoy firing off cannons in an effort to sink any ship that crosses your path?

Can you play Windrose on PlayStation or Xbox?

Since Windrose is currently only available in an Early Access state, you might expect there to be only a PC version of the game.

Sadly, you’d be right, and you cannot play Windrose on console, regardless of which system you own, at least at this moment in time.

The glimmer of hope for you PlayStation and Xbox owners is that even though you can only go full pirate on PC now, the team behind Windrose has stated you could see a console version later down the line.

This was revealed over a year ago on Reddit by one of the devs (AhoyItsBambino) when Windrose was actually named Crosswind. The specific words they used were that “a console release is definitely in our plans, but for now, our main priority is the PC version!”

So, if all goes well in the Early Access period, depending on how long it stays in this state, we could see Windrose on console potentially as soon as 1.0 drops.

Since dev team communication is definitely alive and kicking, we’re sure we’ll know more on a console release closer to the time.

Hopefully, by that point, we could see a bit of PvP action too, allowing for some fun Sea of Thieves-esque shenanigans.
