You can ‘beat’ High on Life 2 in 15 minutes thanks to this secret ending easter egg
When the original High on Life launched, there were a plethora of secrets to uncover, and due to the game’s overall wacky nature, these could be pretty out there.
High on Life 2 is definitely continuing the trend with not only a bunch of different hidden gems to unearth but also one specific easter egg that allows you to roll credits just 15 minutes into the game.
You can ‘complete’ High on Life 2 after the tutorial
While most single games of today are judged on their length, it seems that you can go completely the other way in High on Life 2, if you do an easter egg that finishes the game shortly after completing the tutorial.
Once you get to the point where the Bounty Hunter 5000 has been unlocked, you’re able to select a contract for Lizzie.
After locating Lizzie, you’re then supposed to kill the bounty hunters, saving her. However, you can listen to a bunch of dialogue, allowing the bounty hunters to talk through some bits, and then just shoot Lizzie instead.
This will make the game instantly fade to black, ending the game, and rolling the credits.
This is obviously a joke ending, though, which also comes with an achievement for being brave enough to go through with it.
What makes it funnier is that the achievement is called “Good Ending”, which I guess is technically true because you are following bounty hunter code by dispatching of the ‘target’.
You can sit through the credits if you’d like, but there is also the option to skip through. After you do either, you’ll just be thrown back in at the checkpoint prior to killing Lizzie, forcing you to get rid of the bounty hunters instead, progressing the playthrough.
As previously alluded to, this is one of many secrets you can find on your playthrough if you look hard enough. These, along with the sheer number of great voice lines from an excellent cast, just add to the already solid gameplay, making the sequel a worthy time investment.
