Arc Raiders’ content train is still chugging away, and in the Shrouded Sky update, we’ve seen some meatier additions in the form of new Arc, and a completely game-changing Hurricane map condition that mixes things up a bit.

Alongside this is the Weather Monitor System Project, requiring you to go Topside once again in search of some materials.

One specific piece of the puzzle is the Comet Igniter, and you’ll need it to advance past Stage 2.

As we’ve previously mentioned, two new Arc threats have been added to the game with the Shrouded Sky update. One of these is named the Firefly, and the other, the Comet.

If you haven’t guessed it already, you will be hunting the latter down in order to find a Comet Igniter.

The Comet is the ground-based ball Arc, akin to that of the Surveyor, which can be particularly annoying since it tries to elude you as soon as it senses a threat.

Like most other Arc parts, you will have to destroy the Comet to have a chance of securing a Comet Igniter. However, if you’ve been searching through the remnants of these enemies and have been out of luck, there may be a reason why.

This is because the key here is that you have to destroy the Comet before it explodes. This will create two sets of searchable husks, and it’s the sphere-like section you’ll need to search in.

The best way of killing a Comet before the explosion happens is probably using a Hullcracker. You’ll usually get the job done in a max of two hits making it much more likely it goes down, and also much less likely it escapes from you.

You can also just lob a bunch of grenades at it, preferably on the more powerful end, so it would be wise to go in with a proper loadout instead of a free kit.
