Arc Raiders players have been gifted a free Raider Tool, but you might only have hours to claim it
Arc Raiders developer Embark Studios has released a free Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool for players to celebrate surpassing 10 million players across all platforms.
This free gift was planned for the 10 million mark when it was hit over the Holiday period, but as a display of how popular the game is, Arc Raiders has already hit 12 million just 10 weeks after its release.
However, you may need to act fast. You only have till January 13th at 14:59 PST (23:59 CET) to claim the free item if you haven’t already logged into the game before.
How to claim the free Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool
Given the limited time to claim the item, you thankfully do not need to do a challenging quest in order to receive it.
Simply load up the game before the deadline and claim it in your inventory. Even if you have logged onto the game just once before the deadline, it is available to be claimed.
What Embark has said
Embark Studios has received praise for the way they appreciate their players, with the free Raider Tool following on from the gift of 1,000 Raider Tokens over the festive period.
And in the press release to announce the free item, that gratitude has been on full display yet again.
Aleksander Grøndal, Executive Producer of ARC Raiders at Embark Studios said:
“Reaching 12 million downloads is a milestone we owe entirely to the players. The community of Raiders has helped shape this game from the very beginning, and their passion, feedback, and ingenuity continue to guide how we build, support, and grow this world for the long term.”
How much does Arc Raiders cost?
The news of a free Raider Tool and the gratitude the developers have for their player base could finally twist your arm to choose to purchase the game.
Arc Raiders is available for just $40 (£30.99) at full price, a very modest number for games today.
The reason for that? Embark does not want to be an “offender” to gamers due to it not having a story mode, so winners all around, really.
