Two wildly different adventure games drop Feb 10, and both might deserve your time
On February 10, we adventure gamers will have two new titles to get our hands on, and they couldn’t be any different.
The comedy point-and-click adventure Shadows of the Afterland and the first-person horror adventure Crisol: Theatre of Idols will be available to purchase in less than two weeks.
Shadows of the Afterland
Set in 1960’s Madrid, a chilling incident unfolds at the city’s old zoo, leading to a mysterious death that propels a soul to the threshold between the world of the living and the afterlife.
But when the transition goes faulty, the soul arrives with the memories of Carolina, one of the best members of the Madrid police force, who has not yet been born.
You will guide Carolina as she joins forces with César, a former ghost agent, as you attempt to confront the sinister forces that lurk in the world of the living. Master the art of possession to interact with the living and solve point-and-click puzzles to find the cause of her “own” death.
The game that is further proof of the revival of point-and-click adventures will only be available to PC users upon release. Click here to give the demo a go.
Crisol: Theatre of Idols
Set in Hispania, a gruesome version of Spain, you play as Gabriel, a soldier who uses blood as both his lifeline and his ammunition.
Wield this new-found power against terrifying enemies that include statues that are brought to life as they attempt to stop you from solving intricate puzzles that unravel the mystery behind the island of Tormentosa.
But you must beware that every shot drains your life, forcing you to choose wisely on when to utilise your powers, as survival hinges on your ability to balance life and death.
The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Like Shadows of the Afterland, the game’s demo is available on Steam. Click here to give it a try.
