A mysterious phone call will come in via a red phone, proposing the idea of getting rich through scratchcards. To earn money, you must continue your day job until you get enough to buy scratchcards. 

The Two Win scratchcard is the first one you’ll unlock, and it costs $10. When you purchase one, you must match two of the same symbols to win. Matching two orange symbols awards you $10, two green symbols sees you win $25, and two money bags amount to $50. As you can see, the money you can win at the beginning of your playthrough won’t be life-changing.

As you use items, they will level up, increasing the value of the rewards on the scratchcards, the money you get from your day job, and more. The full game will have over ten different scratchcards to unlock and use, each with varying scratching mini games. You will even be able to purchase upgrades that allow you to increase your scratch size, scratch strength, and scratch luck. 

Since Scritchy Scratchy gambling mechanics rely heavily on luck, you’re going to need as much as you can get, especially when you unlock scratchcards of a higher value with bigger prizes on offer. The game even has gadgets, with the first unlock being an auto scratcher. This means you can feed the scratchcards you purchase through a machine to automatically scratch them, while you work away at your day job or scratch more cards yourself. The money you earn can also be used to upgrade your auto scratcher in terms of speed, capacity, and strength, to help you try to get rich quickly.

Scritchy Scratchy gameplay offers replayability through a prestige system. At the end of a run, you can purchase upgrades via a skill tree and take them into your next game, where you will start again with just your day job and no other unlocks.

When could Scritchy Scratchy be released?

At the time of writing, no Scritchy Scratchy news has come in on a release date. When the game is fully released, it will be available to play on Steam and Itch.io. However, the developers have already deployed various patches to the demo based on player feedback. These updates include rebalancing aspects of the early game, improvements to the phone, and numerous bug fixes.

The Scritchy Scratchy developer is an indie studio named Lunch Money Games. In the past, they have released Calcium Chaos, a roguelite that takes you on a train journey to fight against armies of skeletons. Scritchy Scratchy is in a different vein from the studio’s previous game due to the fact that it’s an idle clicker about trying to get rich using scratchcards.

How long is the Scritchy Scratchy demo?

The length of the Scritchy Scratchy demo depends on how lucky you get and how much money you manage to rack up. If you fail a run by going bankrupt, there are upgrades you can make that will apply to your next run, such as starting with an auto scratcher or earning 25% more from manually scratched tickets. It’s not possible to beat the game in the demo, so fans of clickers may find it satisfying to use the scratchcards to see how much money can be raised.

What’s the end goal of Stritchy Scratchy?

Towards the end of your time with the Scritchy Scratchy demo, you will unlock a Final Chance scratchcard. This scratchcard costs ten million dollars to purchase, so you’ll need a lot of spare cash on hand to be able to own it. The Final Chance scratchcard presents itself as giving you the chance to win the game, which would be the end goal, but you can’t actually win in the demo version. 

The symbols on the scratchcard will be three skulls, meaning it’s game over. The unknown caller on the red phone will tell you that you’re going to need more luck, and they’ll get some new scratchcards ready.
