The next beat ’em up from developer Tribute Games, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, is a great title that builds on what the team made with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The superhuman Phyla-Vell is a powerful queer superhero who wields a huge sword that can take down a bunch of enemies. Players face them at the end of Mission 11 – Hala – The Kree/Bugs War. Another boss who requires a lot of dodging from their attacks, Phyla-Vell eventually becomes playable after they’re defeated.
Silver Surfer
The final character to be unlocked is the Silver Surfer, but not without difficulty. He appears throughout Mission 13 – Fort Galactus – Free the Eater of Worlds, with his end-of-level boss fight being even harder than Venom in Mission 8. The trick is to land a bunch of aerial attacks as well as your characters’ special attacks when available. Once done, the Surfer becomes playable.

- Defeat 10 enemies by dropping Electric Bombs using Storm.
- Free all mutants.
Helicarrier – Operation Jailbreak
- Hit 3 enemies with a single electro-charge attack using Iron Man.
- Toss 5 enemies in pits using Captain America.
- Defeat 15 enemies using Helicarrier’s turret guns.
Savage Land – Rumble in the Jungle
- Defeat 5 enemies using She-Hulk’s throw.
- Hit 5 enemies with a single special attack using Storm.
- Avoid taking damage from the dinosaur stampede.
Wakanda – Battle for Birnin Zana
- Defeat the mission’s boss using Black Panther.
- Hit 3 enemies with a single shield throw by using Captain America.
- Destroy the bug pods before they spawn 25 enemies.
Blue Area of the Moon – Full Moon of the Insectoids
- Defeat Jean Grey/Phoenix using Wolverine.
- Defeat 10 enemies using Nova’s special attack.
- Avoid taking damage from the bug barricade.
Asgard – Fall of the Golden City
- Toss 10 enemies in pits using Jean Grey / Phoenix.
- Hit 4 enemies with a single tackle using Beta Ray Bill.
- Avoid taking damage from Galactus’s cosmic absorption.
Destromundo – The Flying Menagerie
- Defeat the mission’s boss using Spider-Man.
- Hit 3 enemies with a single Sonic Clap using She-Hulk.
- Defeat 5 enemies using traps.
Klyntar – Return of the King
- Defeat 10 enemies using Venom’s throw.
- Hit 5 enemies with a single special attack using Black Panther.
- Avoid taking damage from the Corruption Waves.
Hala – The Kree / Bugs War
- Defeat 5 enemies using Rocket Raccoon’s grenades.
- Defeat 10 enemies using Captain America’s shield throw.
- Avoid being detected by drones in the first part of the mission.
Sanctuary II – The Great Experiment
- Perform 10 parries using Phyla-Vell.
- Use Iron Man’s special attack.
- Avoid taking damage from the Sanctuary-II defense systems.
Fort Galactus – Free the Eater of Worlds
- Defeat 10 enemies using Cosmic Ghost Rider’s cosmic machine gun attack.
- Hit 5 enemies with a single Stormbreaker throw by using Beta Ray Bill.
- Avoid taking damage from debris thrown by Galactus.
Heteropteron – Hell is the Hive
- Hit 5 enemies with a single special attack using Nova.
- Perform 5 cosmic-charged slashes using Phyla-Vell.
- Avoid taking damage from the Larvas.
Arthros Citadel – Negative Zone Showdown
- Perform 10 cosmic blasts with the Silver Surfer.
- Defeat 3 enemies using Rocket Raccoon’s nuke grenade attack.
- Defeat 10 enemies with Galactus’ help.
NYC Rooftops – The Last Battle
- Toss 5 enemies into the pits.
- Defeat the mission’s boss using Nova.
- Avoid taking damage from Annihulus’ negative rain meteor attacks.
