The next beat ’em up from developer Tribute Games, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, is a great title that builds on what the team made with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. But it’s not without its frustrating moments that may leave you with no choice but to go on a long walk before you face a few bosses again.

Throughout Marvel Cosmic Invasion, there are three challenges available in every level, where completing some, as well as collecting cosmic cubes, can give players ways to unlock music tracks, different colors for characters, and more. With this in mind, we have listed below the challenges that we are addressing.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion: How to Unlock all Characters

As you start Marvel Cosmic Invasion for the first time, you may spot four question marks as you try to decide on your two characters to play as. These are unlocked as you progress throughout the game.

Phoenix / Jean Grey

This is Jean Grey’s alter-ego after absorbing the Phoenix Force, whom you face as a boss in Mission 7 – Blue Area of the Moon – Full Moon of the Insectoids. Once you’ve beaten her, she becomes playable in every mode and in previous missions.

Venom

You face the evil symbiote Venom as a boss in Mission 8 – Destromundo – The Flying Menagerie. He’s a challenging boss, where you have to dodge his powerful punches; otherwise, you’ll find yourself restarting the mission. However, once you’re successful, he becomes playable.

Phyla-Vell

The superhuman Phyla-Vell is a powerful queer superhero who wields a huge sword that can take down a bunch of enemies. Players face them at the end of Mission 11 – Hala – The Kree/Bugs War. Another boss who requires a lot of dodging from their attacks, Phyla-Vell eventually becomes playable after they’re defeated.

Silver Surfer

The final character to be unlocked is the Silver Surfer, but not without difficulty. He appears throughout Mission 13 – Fort Galactus – Free the Eater of Worlds, with his end-of-level boss fight being even harder than Venom in Mission 8. The trick is to land a bunch of aerial attacks as well as your characters’ special attacks when available. Once done, the Surfer becomes playable.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion: Mission Challenges

In every mission, you’ll come across three challenges that you can complete. These aren’t mandatory, but they will help you unlock certain bonus items in Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Below is a list of every mission with every challenge, ready for you to complete.
