Demo round-up for The Big Adventure Event 2022
Our beloved genre is back in focus on Steam this week, with the second annual Big Adventure Event now underway! Until January 24th, keep your eyes open for myriad developer interviews, livestream broadcasts, and community events for your favourite upcoming games. In the meantime, below is a round-up of demos available while the event is running. (They may or may not remain active after that, so act fast for the titles that interest you most!) New demos may be added to the list as they become available, so be sure to check back in over the next few days.
Aboard the Adventure
You will be part of the team of the daring Captain Quinn, with the goal of defeating the sinister Professor Weaver in a race to get various ancient and mysterious artifacts that can change the fate of the world.
Another Tomorrow
Your head’s pounding, your body cold. The air is ripe with something all too familiar. Blood. The odour is unmistakable. But there’s something else. Something sweet but medicinal, an intoxifying cocktail of brown sugar, ethanol, and disinfectant. It hurts to open your eyes. The lights are bright but it’s not that. Moving hurts, like you haven’t moved in a long time. Questions race through your mind; where are you, how long have you been here, what the fork is that taste? Trapped without your memories but equipped with a camera, you’ll explore abandoned apartments, airfields, temples, and underground facilities to search for clues, solve puzzles, and unlock secrets to answer the question: who are you?
Aspire: Ina’s Tale
Trapped in perpetual slumber inside the cruel Tower that feeds off the dreams of its victims, one prisoner awakes. Lost inside the Tower’s inner chambers, the heroine Ina must now search for a way out. Along the way, she’ll traverse marvelous scenery, meet enigmatic characters, and solve intuitive puzzles as she comes closer to her goal, but farther from innocence.
Aurora: The Lost Medallion – The Cave
Below the frozen surface of planet Eedor lies the technological marvel of the Cave. For more than a decade, it has hosted a self-sustained society of robots and children. The children know nothing of their heritage or of how they got there. Their only guidance comes from the “Voices,” mysterious deities that left a message for each child, a gift that ultimately defines their role in life. Aurora is the only child without a message to guide her. As her free spirit is tested by the controlling nature of the Cave and her need for a purpose grows, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Behind the Beyond is the tale of a young lad who sets off to find a job, but finds a wondrous adventure instead. Explore a truly magical world and solve the mysteries of the Kingdom Behind the Beyond playing as Johnny, the youngest son of a poor man, and his companion the Fox.

You are an aspiring artist on the cusp of finishing the final piece of your gallery submission. Seek the missing colors that will bring your paintings to life, all while remembering to take the occasional coffee and breakfast breaks to keep you going. There is more than what meets the eye, for every painting has a story to tell.
