Dear me I was

The new Nintendo Switch 2 is about to get one of its first exclusive interactive adventures and it looks beautiful. Dear Me, I Was… is an interactive adventure that offers a story woven by Taisuke Kanazaki’s beautiful visuals that fuse vivid watercolors with rotoscoping technology.

The description says, “Players will experience the joys, sorrow, and growth of this protagonist through her ordinary and humble life. Witness the story she weaves in a life interconnected with others.”

It all sounds lovely and the art style is super cool, “combining the expressiveness of watercolor with the fluidity and realism of rotoscoping, delivering an unprecedented visual experience.”

The game, which will be released by Arc System Works, perhaps better known for the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series of fighting games, so is quite the departure. has been developed by a predominantly female team and this looks like it carries through into the narrative.

Dear Me, I was… launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 31st, priced at just $7.99. It is worth noting, however, that the devs make it clear from the off that this is an experience that will only last you between 40 and 60 minutes. This is not a hardcore adventure romp and it will be available as a digital download from the Nintendo e-shop only and carried a PEGI 16 rating.
