New Steam demo released for upcoming psychological adventure Thief’s Shelter
Greece-based Geo Games has just announced a new 3D point-and-click adventure that sees you “step into a murder case that doesn’t want to be solved.”
Uncover what happened at Highburn Mansion — before it unravels your mind. Investigate, solve intricate puzzles, document elusive evidence, and question everything you see, so says the blurb, but if that has you intrigued already, there is a demo on Steam that will let you take a look for yourself.
The demo covers Thief’s Shelter’s opening hours, letting players experience the beginning of James’ investigation of the murder in the Highburn Mansion. Alongside the demo, a new trailer offers a closer look at the game’s unsettling atmosphere, puzzles, and psychological horror elements.
The game unearths buried trauma, twisted ambitions, and the inhuman forces pulling the strings behind it all. Your investigation is intertwined with Detective James’ personal struggles, such as the artificial dementia and its effects.
You will fight James’ deteriorating mental state, experience hallucinations, and confront his repressed memories. Explore Highburn Mansion that distorts as you progress, search for clues, and use investigative tools to reveal secrets hidden in plain sight. The deeper you dig, the less you know what’s real. Is there a supernatural presence inside the mansion — or is it all in your head?
So it’s not exactly cheery then, but if psychological horror is your bag, this is one you should find the time to check out.
Thief’s Shelter is listed as coming soon to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and you can wishlist it on Steam to keep updated.
