The only way ghosts can communicate with the living is through half-dreams or “ghostdreams”. The danger for ghosts is that if they become trapped in a ghostdream, they will turn into a demons. A ghost named Reader finds himself trapped in this world between worlds, and in trying to find his way out he will encounter a number of ghosts, demons, spirits, and gods.
