The Good
- Two main characters are charming and fleshed out, both individually and in their relationship
- fantastic vocal performances and writing that react to the player’s actions
- highly stylized, wonderfully colorful graphics perfectly evoke the Wyoming wilderness
- radio dialogue system is clever and innovative
- plot goes in unexpectedly suspenseful directions.

- Story doesn’t wrap up in a particularly satisfying way
- far more linear and restricted than it first implies.

A game of very high quality. Although some aspects might have been executed better, we would recommend this game without hesitation.
This charming, gorgeous narrative game is a uniquely sharp character study with a wonderful setting, but a rushed conclusion keeps Firewatch just on this side of greatness.
